About Caley

Hey everyone! My name is Caley and I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Jay, for the past 8 years! And boy have we been on one incredible journey! Jay serves at LifeChurch.tv in Keller, TX and is the most inspiring, driven, devoted, disciplined, and loving man I’ve ever known. I’ve never had someone challenge and inspire me to be better in such a loving way. He always says he married way up, but I know the truth... I married even further up! I don’t deserve him!

Now to our sweet, sweet Emma... We decided to pursue starting our family about 5 years ago, but after year one, we knew something wasn’t right. After lots of (EXPENSIVE) testing, we were told we had less than a 3% chance of getting pregnant naturally. IVF was our only option. In September of 2013, we went public with our infertility journey (you can read more here.), started raising money for IVF, as well as pursued fostering to adopt in order to, as we dubbed it, #bringbabyporterhome.

In March of 2014, after going to the doctor for “stomach ulcers,” the “flu,” and then coming down with a “stomach bug,” I found out it was something else... rather someONE else. We were pregnant... naturally, with our little miracle baby! So after four years of battling infertility we turned the corner and God allowed us to experience the joys of parenthood. That stomach bug is now 10 months old and has more personality than a teenager! Yikes!

Since our journey with infertility, I’ve had a passion for encouraging women currently going through the struggle that is infertility. It’s the hardest thing we’ve ever faced, but being honest about those struggles, leaning into scripture and focusing on WHO God is, not just what He gives, was the only thing that got us through it. I know necklaces aren’t an infertility fix-it, or a fix-it for any battle someone may be going through, but I do believe being able to wear something encouraging every day to focus on in those hard moments does help. The Bible says to bind the scriptures around your forehead... well The Porterbox is taking that quite literally, we just dropped it a few fashionable inches!
